Abstract:
In 2015, the value of sheet metal product production in the U.S. amounted to $20.2B, remaining constant against the previous year level.Overall, the U.S. sheet metal product output pursued a moderate decline from 2007 to 2015. The total output figures decreased at an average annual rate of -0.8%. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when the output figure increased by +9% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the total value of sheet metal product shipments in the United States attained its maximum level of $21.4B in 2008. Afterwards, the growth in terms of the sheet metal product production failed to regain its strength through to 2015.

Other sheet metal work accounted for the highest share (36% in 2015) of U.S. sheet metal product manufacturing, leaving a considerable room for sheet metal electronic enclosures (14%). The other related products with less notable individual shares together comprised approx. 50% of the total output.
