Abstract:
In 2015, the value of tire production in the U.S. amounted to $17.2B, jumping by +3.4% against the previous year level. Overall, the U.S. tire output pursued a considerable growth from 2007 to 2015. The total output figures increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when the output figure increased by +25% from the previous year level. In that year, the value of shipments of tire in the United States attained its maximum level of $19.1B. From 2012 to 2015, the tire production yet failed to recover to its maximum levels.

Passenger car pneumatic tires (casings) was the major product category in the U.S. tire manufacturing, with a share in total output standing near 56% in 2015. Truck and bus (including off-the-highway) pneumatic tires lagged far behing, accounting for only the 24% share. The other related products together comprised approx. 19% of the total output.
