WIT Supports South Oakland Shelter in Reaching Fundraising Goal for Annual 5K Race
On August 6, Team WIT participated as a Race Support Sponsor of the 4th Annual End Homelessness Now 5K/10K Run/Walk. Hosted by South Oakland Shelter (SOS), the race brought together over 350 participants and volunteers to St. David’s Episcopal Church in Southfield, Michigan.The day’s festivities began with a 1 mile ‘fun run’, followed immediately by the 5K/10K race. After the race, a delicious pancake breakfast was served, and the event concluded with a moving interfaith celebration. Nearly $50,000 was raised to help support individuals and families in SOS’s housing program.
“Participating in the race was a rewarding and fun experience for the WIT team,” said Quaid Saifee, President of WIT. “We hope to be able to sponsor the event again next year, and for years to come.”
