THE SAUJANA KUALA LUMPUR APPOINTS NEW GENERAL MANAGER

Kuala Lumpur, 12th January 2009 – We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Andreas Herbst as the General Manager of The Saujana Kuala Lumpur effective today. With his strong background in Food and Beverage, Sales and Marketing and Hotel Operations, Mr. Herbst is in charge of overseeing both hotels, namely The Saujana Kuala Lumpur and the new resort-in-city The Club at The Saujana which opened in September 2008. “I foresee 2009 to be a very challenging year for us and the tourism industry in general, however, as a team, we aim towards building a stronger team, a more consolidated effort towards better service and occupancy levels for both hotels and a stronger presence in the market,” explained Mr. Herbst.

With over 20 years of hotel experience, Mr. Herbst has been with the General Hotel Management (GHM) group since 2002 along with a long list of other international hotel chains. His international hotel career spans across many countries including Indonesia, India, Russia, Thailand, China, Germany and Qatar. Prior to joining The Saujana Kuala Lumpur, he was the General Manager for The Legian in Bali and also The Leela in Goa, both of which are sister hotels to The Saujana Kuala Lumpur. He also had the opportunity to manage other hotels like The Grand Hotel Europe, The Monarch Lee Gardens, The Aquila Prambanan Hotel and Sheraton Hotels.
