Springfield, MO — Daniel Snyder, a Managing Partner for Performance Based Safety LLC, will serve on the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP) Board of Directors in 2009.

Formerly the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers, AHMP is an international membership organization that fosters the professional development of its members through educational programs, peer group interaction and recognition of the Certified Hazardous Materials Managers® (CHMM®) credential and other credentials as standards of excellence in the environmental, health, safety and security industry (EHS&S). AHMP is comprised of more than 56 chapters in 37 states and more than 4,000 hazardous materials professionals throughout the world.

“I am extremely honored and at the same time very excited to be able to serve my fellow AHMP members at the national and international levels,” said Snyder “I am looking forward to working with the other members of the AHMP Board of Directors to develop new programs and services that will help advance the careers of all hazardous materials management professionals throughout the United States and around the world and to establish a course for the organization’s long-term future.”

Mr. Snyder possesses more than 15 years experience with hazardous materials and safety management systems. He served as part of the National Response Plan during Hurricane Katrina delivering disaster site worker training to all federal assets. As a consultant, he has assisted companies with improving safety and health processes, prepares for OSHA VPP, conducts workplace audits, facilitates grant funded research to improve safety performance, and designs customized training programs. Mr Snyder has held several leadership positions in the Ozarks region, including director of the National Safety Council Ozarks Chapter 2001-05, president of the ACHMM Ozarks Chapter in 2006 and president of the Arkansas ASSE chapter in 2007. As Director At Large for AHMP, he focuses on the organizations global efforts to provide education and technical resources for hazardous materials management internationally. The 2009 AHMP Board of Directors will comprise an Executive Committee of Harry S. Kemp, CHMM (Jackson, Tenn.), president; Zehra Schneider Graham, CHMM (Boston, Mass.), vice president/president-elect; Elise Allen-Frankenfield, CHMM (Cleveland, Ohio), secretary; W. Scott Butterfield, CHMM (Trenton, N.J.), treasurer; and Michael, Mandracchia, CHMM (Trenton, N.J.), immediate past president. Directors on the Board are John Wolf, CHMM (Livermore, Calif.), director of education; Robert Fletcher, CHMM (Springfield, Tenn.), government relations director; Donna Ratkowski, CHMM (Maplewood, Mo.), member services director; and directors at large Daniel Snyder, CHMM (Nixa, Mo.); Carol Carollo, CHMM (Lemoore, Calif.); and Karen Rider, CHMM (Seffner, Fla.). A sixth director will be appointed to fill the vacancy created when Schneider Graham assumed the role of vice president/president-elect Jan. 1. Additionally, two retired AHMP members serve as directors emeritus: William W. McMillan (Plainfield, Ind.) and Charles M. Bessey (Stuart, Fla.).
