Automated cell counter is equipment that automatically counts number of dead and/or live cells in a culture. Certain automated cell counters used for urinalysis and several for blood analysis. The blood or urine sample is filled into an automated cell counter, it is passed through a small tube whereas the automated cell counter uses electrical or optical impedance sensors to count number of cells going through the tube. Several researcher working in a cell culture hood requires some type of cell counting solution, either to analyse cell concentration before cell passage, or to measure cell viability following drug treatment. Used in research and medical labs, automated cell counters can be used on urine or blood samples to analysis the types and to observe the viability of a cultured cell or number of cells present for research purposes.
