Eugene Reverand's failure to win lottery causes rift in congregation
Rev. Steven Robinson, the leader of "The Posse," a pseudo-religious congregation based out of Eugene, Oregon, walked into a grocery store on Saturday, March 11th, and purchased an "powerball" ticket. Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in Oregon. After scratching off his card, and waiting for the results, Steven was shocked to find that for the third time in a week he had failed to win the jackpot in the lottery.After reporting his failure during his mass on Sunday, a large portion of Steven's congregation left in anger, and picketed the town hall.
Officials were confused by the actions of Steven's congregates, and upon questioning, and angry member was quoted as saying "If god loved us, he would not have left our pastor alone like this."
After hours of picketing, the group dispersed, and officials looking to question Rev. Robinson were unable to reach him for comment. A member of the congregation not participating in the picket was reached at his home saying, quote, "I don't know why the guys went so crazy. It's kinda stupid."
