Detecting foreign bodies in accordance with IFS and other hygiene standards

All the equipment on the S+S stand at Anuga FoodTec complies with the requirements of the International Food Standard (IFS) handbook, Chapter 5 (Measurement, Analysis, Improvement) which specifies the necessary standards to be achieved with respect to metals and contaminants. Food producers must take every precaution to detect and prevent contamination from metal or other foreign materials at the earliest opportunity. Should an IFS audit inspection reveal shortcomings in the detection of metal contaminants, the effects are far-reaching; the IFS certification system will not allow for a certificate to be issued at the point of detection, nor further up the supply chain.
Every machine supplied by S+S is specially designed, manufactured and certified to meet the stringent hygiene standards of the food and packaging industries. The digital metal and foreign body separation systems offer data recording which can be analysed on a PC. This complies with IFS requirements with regard to batch tracing and documentation. S+S systems play a major part in protecting food manufacturers from product recalls which are costly and damaging to their reputation.
