Luciano Pavarotti Celebrates A Lifetime Of Legendary Performances; The Great Operatic Tenor Will Say Good-Bye To Canadian Audiences In June
( EMAILWIRE.COM, March 07, 2006 ) - This June, Luciano Pavarotti will take his final bows as an operatic performer, paying tribute to the millions of Canadian fans who have shared his passion for music for the last four decades.An exclusive Decca artist for a record-breaking 40 years, Luciano Pavarotti is the most popular classical artist in the history of the recording industry. “A Night to Remember - The Farewell Tour” will be the last opportunity to see the great tenor perform live in Montreal on June 3 at the Bell Centre; Toronto on June 6 at the Air Canada Centre; Calgary on June 11 at the Pengrowth Saddledome; and Vancouver on June 16 at GM Place.
Now 70, and truly a citizen of the world, Pavarotti recently brought the house down at the 2006 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony with his most recognized performance piece - “Nessun Dorma”- seen by over 2.5 billion people on the worldwide TV broadcast.
“I am more than delighted to come back to Canada for my last concerts in the wonderful cities of Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. I just have the best memories for all the cities and I very much hope that the audience will enjoy these special evenings as much as we enjoy being there the last time performing for you,” Pavarotti said of the tour that will allow him to share his passion for great music as a performer one last time. At the conclusion of this farewell tour, the legendary tenor is looking forward to spending as much time as possible with his wife Nicoletta and his three-year-old daughter Alice and helping young performers develop their talent.

During his Canadian farewell tour, Pavarotti will perform highlights from his 40-year performing career including pieces from Tosti, Bellini, Puccini, Mascagni and Verdi. Pavarotti last performed in Canada in 2002 in Montreal and Calgary to sell-out crowds.
