ProAir - 10 years of successful aircraft brokering

Press release from: ProAir-Charter-Transport GmbH

Thomas Godau, Elmar Monreal and Kim Witschas established ProAir-Charter-Transport GmbH in September 1996; this year the company celebrates its tenth anniversary.

ProAir acts as a so-called “aircraft broker”. Based on a vast amount of information and contacts, an aircraft broker deals with aircraft and flight capacities. He knows exactly what aircraft has which equipment, the condition of the aircraft and its configuration. He knows about flight progress, where the aircraft is currently in use, where it is based and how it is maintained.

Aircraft brokering was a business idea to which only a few people in Germany gave a future. There are still sufficient people in Europe who believe that you cannot earn any money in this business, and that there is only one in Germany who is an expert in this field of business…
The fact is that ProAir has become established at the top and is acknowledged as the “one of the greatest” in Germany and in Europe!

Everything started with small cargo flights of up to five tons. Today, ProAir has access to all commercially approved aircraft. Starting from the helicopter up to the largest aircraft in the world, the “Antonov 225”, the service offers endless possibilities. An internal passenger record was set in 2005, documenting a trend in this sector: more and more companies have established their own shuttles or have made air travel of their employees more flexible.

“It is true that the past years have shown us that it is a long and difficult path,” commented Thomas Godau, one Managing Director of ProAir. “However, we have continually managed to establish new business sectors which offer the possibility of further growth for us!”

Meanwhile, the company offers consultation services in the sectors of maintenance, management and sales. “Aircraft are outstandingly suitable as tax-deductible items, even if the purchase price is extremely high,˝ states Thomas Godau. “Companies very often toy with the idea of purchasing their own aircraft and use the possibility of charter shuttles as a preliminary stage of realisation. Even if no purchasing interest exists, ProAir has meanwhile become the true partner if it concerns the management of one’s own aircraft”!

ProAir has had a Beech 1900C stationed at Stuttgart airport since October 2005. In January 2006 the service was supplemented by a Piper PA-34 Seneca, which is specifically used for urgent cargo flights of up to 400 kg.

The head office of ProAir-Charter-Transport GmbH is still located in Filderstadt with its view of the apron of Stuttgart Airport. The branch office in Cannes, France has been the start of geographical expansion. Further branch offices are planned.

The ProAir Group currently employs 25 staff.
