Absorption Chiller is a device used to produce chilled water with the help of heat energy instead using an electrical source used in conventional chilling devices. The device primarily finds application across industries having a lot of waste heat or solar energy to produce. Installing an absorption chiller may lead to significant cost savings in big hotels, large corporate offices, big sports stadium and major industries requiring chilled water or cooling environment. Absorption chiller are primarily classified on the basis of type of absorber used. These are lithium- bromide and ammonia based absorption chiller. Absorption chiller are available in several configurations catering to the specific industry requirement. These can be categorized into direct-fired, steam-fired, hot water fired, and indirect fired absorption chiller.
Increasing demand for renewable source of energy where the primary source of energy can be utilized in an effective way is primarily driving the growth of the global absorption chiller. Further, government push towards utilization of eco-friendly energy producing equipment is expected to increase the adoption in the near future.
