Dimethylaminopropylamine also known as DMAPA has CAS Number 109-55-7. The liner formula of Dimethylaminopropylamine is (CH3)2NCH2CH2CH2NH2. Basically, it is a diamine used in the preparation of some surfactants, adhesives & protective, catalyst, fibers etc. DMAPA is produced by the Michael reaction of dimethylamine and a subsequent hydrogenation step yields DMAPA. It is a strong base, highly flammable, temperature sensitive and possibly sensitive to air and transparent liquid with amine odor. It is completely soluble in some of organic and inorganic solvent such as water, heptane, benzene, etc. It is used in the production of leather processing, rubber, paper and personal care & cosmetic products. It is also used as an intermediate in the production of textile fabric, polymers, flocculating agents, agrochemicals, soaps, and dye.

Dimethylaminopropylamine has found numerous application such as cosmetics & personal care, textile fibers, dyeing, medicines, lubricant additives, polyurethane catalysts, resins, others. Increasing demand for in these activities is likely to drive the Dimethylaminopropylamine market growth. Among all the application Dimethylaminopropylamine widely used in cosmetics & personal care and the second major application is in polyurethane catalysts.
