China Amends Quality Standard for Knitted Sweater Workmanship
Standard FZ/T 73010-2016 is used to ascertain the quality of workmanship exhibited in knitted sweaters. The standard covers garments made of, blended with, or interlaced with cotton, bast fibers, silk and chemical fibers.
The new standard does not cover clothing for infants aged less than 36 months.
The new version of the standard includes amendments affecting:
• Application scope
• Product classification
• Product specification and/or size
• Instructions for use
• Formaldehyde limits
• pH limits
• Pilling resistance
• Bursting strength/N
• Wet rubbing fastness/grade
• Textile color fastness
• Accessories
• Appearance after hand washing
• Dimensional stability after washing

Stakeholders are advised to immediately update their product manufacturing instructions to remain compliant with the amended standard and continue accessing the Chinese market.
