The first startup from Italy to receive an official rating, from Early Metrics

Milan, May 19, 2017: ELSE Corp, a virtual retail company based in Milan, is proud to announce that they are the first startup from Italy to have been certified by Early Metrics, a rating agency for startups and innovative SMEs from the UK, bringing an objective methodology to assessing a startup's potential growth. Instead of rating a company’s credit risk, Early Metrics is concerned with a company’s growth potential. By reviewing a startup’s Business Model, technology, management, marketing, strategy, the competition, the go to market etc., Early Metrics identify and analyze the most promising startups in Europe and offer companies an unbiased look at their strengths and weaknesses. 

On behalf of investors and large corporations, they detect and evaluate young and innovative companies. Along with an independent scientific committee, Early Metrics has developed a solid and consistent rating model for startups and SMEs. Being experts in what they call the “pre due-diligence” processes, their ratings support decision-makers such as investors and corporates to identify innovative startups worthy of their time and money; as opposed to the actual due-diligence stage, where an investor or company would have already made up their mind to engage in a deal but are looking for reasons not to do it. The rating also helps the startups themselves, as it allows them to examine their strengths and weaknesses, gain credibility, and give their investors added confidence by being audited by a third party.

In order to get rated, ELSE Corp’s CEO & Co-Founder, Andrey Golub, was interviewed and provided all the necessary documentation requested by the rating agency. At the end of the process, the startup received a two-page certificate with their rating score and some top line objective insights such as SWOT analysis, market overview etc. As of today, Early Metrics have rated 1000+ companies and serve 150+ clients such as VISA, HSBC, LVMH, Airbus, Sanofi and Renault.

Their ecosystem in other countries where they have a presence is already very rich with startups, for this reason they have no presence in Italy. However, Early Metrics made an exception for ELSE Corp as the startup is interesting for the business purposes of some of their clients.
