Rosneft assesses the advantages of leasing equipment of Russian company BPC Engineering

05-04-2017 05:32 PM CET | Energy & Environment

Press release from: COMPEX

BPC Engineering has signed a contract with Nizhnevartovsk oil-and-gas production enterprise (JSC "NK "Rosneft") for the lease of a modern microturbine power plant ENEX 65 with a gas pressure reduction unit. The equipment is designed for reliable power supply of the electric-centrifugal pump unit and other consumers of the remote Khokhlovskoye field. A special feature of the project is the use of untreated associated gas from the annulus of the well as a fuel for a power plant. Previously, this solution had already been successfully resolved during the pilot operation at the Van-Yoganskoye field in the Nizhnevartovsk region, and later it successfully proved itself during the operation under lease at Okunevskoye oil field.
The power plant ENEX 65 is characterized by its ability to operate on a wide range of fuels, including low quality gas such as associated gas with variable composition and high content of hydrogen sulfide up to 7%, without reducing the efficiency and engine life.
The equipment is manufactured in a block-modular design of a high level of operational readiness taking into account climatic conditions, has small dimensions and weight, which makes it easy to transport from one facility to another and perform installation and commissioning in a short time. A micro-turbine power plant at the Khokhlovskoye field is designed to replace an uneconomical and inefficient diesel power plant that will be used as a reserve.
For operation in a remote hard-to-reach field, one of the key advantages of ENEX 65 is also the lack of the need for a constant presence of maintenance staff - the operation of the power plant is fully automated, and service is required on average no more than once per year that is 8000 hours.
Leasing equipment of BPC Engineering for the enterprises of JSC "NK" Rosneft" allows to provide reliable energy supply of the infrastructure of remote fields without one-time capital costs.
The Oil Company noted the smooth operation of the ENEX 65 power plant on untreated associated petroleum gas of the annular space and intends to replicate the solution at other facilities.

COMPEX designs, manufactures and supplies screw, reciprocating, centrifugal gas compressors; equipment for associated and flare gas treatment; wellhead gas compression systems for legacy wells operation extension; single-stage, low-temperature and scalable desulfurization systems; zero-flaring systems, gas reinjection, LPG and aromatics extraction; waste-to-energy systems based on proprietary fast pyrolysis technology. In its solutions company relies on state-of-the-art concepts and the most efficient technologies. Main feature of COMPEX equipment is its capability to handle various gases including low-quality gases with high CO and H2S contents. The equipment is manufactured in Russia at the company's own plant located in Yaroslavl Region. All equipment is manufactured with due consideration of specific customer's requirements, gas composition and site location. Prior to shipment equipment undergoes quality control and has all necessary certificates for operation in destination countries.
