WinScribe Announces the Release of WinScribe v3.8 at ILTA 2008

Chicago, IL, August 26, 2008 – WinScribe, world leading provider of digital dictation and workflow solutions, is pleased to announce that WinScribe Version 3.8, the latest release of their award winning digital dictation and workflow management software suite is now available. This new release includes extended workflow functionality as well as an enhanced Mobility suite and an increased compatibility range across importers, Citrix and Terminal Services. Demonstrations of WinScribe v3.8 will be presented at the 31st Annual Educational Conference of the International Legal Technology Association taking place August 25 – 28, 2008 in Grapevine, TX.

WinScribe v3.8 takes workflow to another level with automatic job routing, e.g. dictations which have not been completed during normal working hours can be sent to another chosen dept/location for typing. With WinScribe v3.8, the author now also benefits from alerts that advise when the author’s preferred typist or secretary is unavailable due to absence. This functionality allows the author to route the jobs more efficiently for an even better documents turnaround time and business performance.

“This new version adds tremendous workflow functionality that puts the author in total control of their document production workflow process. This is particularly beneficial for international firms and firms with offices spread across multiple time zones,” says Jeff Harlan, CEO WinScribe’s USA division. “Consider this scenario – a lawyer in London submits a dictation to the local typist pool for transcription. At 5:00 p.m. GMT the support office closes for the evening and the job has yet to be transcribed. A workflow rule can be established to automatically route that unfinished job to the firm’s Chicago transcription queue where it is only 11:00 a.m. CST and six hours of work time remains for members of the queue. In the event that the work remains incomplete at the close of the work day in Chicago, the job is automatically routed back to the London queue for attention the next morning,” explains Harlan.

WinScribe’s BlackBerry and Windows Mobile applications have already proven to be very popular among law firms globally. Recent enhancements include insert/over-write functionality and encryption at the device and SD card level. WinScribe is the first and only dictation company to provide this level of security for dictation captured via mobile devices.

With WinScribe v3.8, the dictation application is supported by Nokia N95 smartphones in addition to the Windows Mobile and BlackBerry platforms previously supported. WinScribe for Nokia N95 presents the same advanced features and security options that the application for BlackBerry. WinScribe is proud to be the only dictation vendor currently offering this functionality and security as part of their Mobility suite.

WinScribe v3.8 now supports a wider range of thin clients and importers, including the latest range of portable devices such as the Olympus DS-5000 and DS-5000ID portable recording devices to suit the specific needs of an increasing number of users across organizations.

WinScribe v3.8 also supports the new Citrix ICA client 10.2. Enhanced functionality for Terminal Services or Citrix session includes easier upload of dictation captured via digital handheld devices to the WinScribe server. Under this new version, when a connection to the server has been established on a client machine where a WinScribe application is running in the session, audio files found on digital portables connected to the client machine will be automatically transferred off the digital portable to the Terminal Services or Citrix Server.
