Eclipse gains momentum in the world of banking. WeigleWilczek’s bank-specific Eclipse project Open Financial Market Platform (OFMP) already released a first bundle of modules and several other software development companies within the Eclipse ecosystem also turn to the financial markets.IT decision makers who want to learn more about Eclipse software solutions already in use in the banking industry now have an opportunity to attend an information forum, the Eclipse Banking Day, on September 11, 2008 in Frankfurt.
The information day organized by WeigleWilczek comes up with a variety of interesting showcase projects and talks: Schweizer PostFinance will illustrate its GUI framework for Rich Clients, Degussa Bank will present an Eclipse-based application which streamlines order processing in the bank’s retail division and Mike Milinkovich, Executive Director of the Eclipse Foundation, was committed as keynote speaker.
The Eclipse Banking Day aims at connecting the financial community to the Eclipse ecosystem. Bankers and Eclipse committers will introduce ways to leverage the Eclipse technology for banking purposes and provide participants with an accessible insight into applications, tools, frameworks and modules specifically designed for banks. All of the solutions presented on the Eclipse Banking Day were exclusively built on Eclipse technology backed by one of the world’s largest and most professional open source initiatives.
