Blue Heron Gallery, Brunswick County Art Gallery, Takes First Place In 2008 Peoples Choice Awards
The Blue Heron Gallery has taken First Place in the Brunswick County Peoples Choice Awards for 2008. The contest was sponsored by Sister Publications, publishers of Your Brunswick Marketplace News. and WWAY TV 3 located in Wilmington, NC.The Blue Heron Gallery was chosen by popular vote in Brunswick County, North Carolina. The Blue Heron Gallery is located in Sunset Beach, NC.
The Blue Heron Gallery is unique in that the outlet features one of a kind, original works of art from artists all over the United States. The gallery features the works of over 200 American, regional and local artists, and showcases blown glass, stoneware and handcrafted jewelry. “That is something very few galleries can claim,” stated Jo-Ann Johnston, owner. 'We are very pleased to have been chosen by the voters of Brunswick County as their favorite art gallery.”
In addition to being receiving First Place honors in the Brunswick County 2008 Peoples Choice Awards, the gallery has was also chosen as a finalist in the Niche Top 100 Retailers Of American Craft in 2003 and was a finalist in the Niche 2006 Top Retailer Awards.
The first annual 2008 Peoples Choice Awards was jointly sponsored by Sister Publications, publishers of Your Brunswick Marketplace News, the Free Publicity Focus Group and WWAY-TV 3. Public voting began in December of 2007 and was accomplished through write in, fax, email and paper votes.
First place winners received a certificate at a public awards ceremony held at Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport hosted by Sister Publications on July 23, 2008.
