The cyber security requirement impact on manufacturing organizations is going to be heavy in 2017. Guidelines from the regulatory agencies have tripled in some cases. DoD contractors (including small business) are under pressure of meeting these requirements or chance losing the business. In fact, manufacturers with contracts with the Department of Defense (DoD), General Services Administration (GSA) or NASA must be compliant with defined cybersecurity requirements no later than December 31, 2017

Additionally, CUI is often provided to, or shared with, state and local governments, colleges and universities, and independent research organizations.
