SMi’s Asthma & COPD conference will be returning to London for the 13th time later this month

Aimed at senior scientists and respiratory and inhalation specialists, this year’s conference will explore the leading strategies to novel treatments and solutions through a packed agenda of presentations and an exclusive workshop.

Asthma & COPD will provide 16 presentations addressing regulatory updates, inhalation device development, therapeutic developments, updates on COPD and showcasing case studies such as ‘The Salford Lung Study’. The expert speaker line-up will feature industry experts and leaders in academia from: MHRA, Boehringer Ingelheim, UK Inhaler Group, Teva, AstraZeneca, MedImmune, Imperial College of London, University of Cardiff, Mylan, Janssen, GSK and more…

Alongside the attendee list, the download centre will provide access to the Asthma & COPD 2017 Speaker Interview Series which features interviews with MHRA, AstraZeneca and University of Cardiff. The speaker interviews look into the current field of asthma & COPD as well as what attendees will gain from the conference.

A CPD certified pre-conference workshop will be hosted alongside the conference by Cambridge Consultants on ‘The future of Asthma & COPD management; from connected inhalers to therapy management’.

This half day workshop will explore how the treatment of Asthma and COPD is evolving. The discussion will focus on how personalised medicine and enhanced user experience can improve patient outcome. The workshop will provide insights on emerging technology trends relevant to the future of respiratory drug delivery devices and highlight the manufacturing and development challenges one might face. Specifically, the workshop will examine the impact that wireless technologies, sensors, wearables and data analytics will have in a future which will undoubtedly require pharmaceutical companies to develop more holistic treatment solutions that support 1) patients to take control of their disease state and 2) healthcare professionals to provide more efficient care.
