IVF Devices and Consumables Market Draws $50 Million for AI-Enabled IVF Lab Launch | Report by DataM Intelligence
Conceivable Life Sciences raised $50 million in Series A funding to advance the U.S. launch of AURA, its AI-powered automated IVF laboratory platform. The company says the system applies robotics and AI to standardize more than 200 laboratory steps. The investment highlights growing interest in automation that could improve workflow consistency and help fertility clinics address capacity constraints, while increasing pressure on suppliers to integrate equipment, imaging and software into validated lab systems. The funding creates opportunities for IVF instrument makers, consumables suppliers, automation developers and clinic networks seeking more standardized laboratory workflows. Conceivable, CooperSurgical, Vitrolife, Fujifilm Irvine Scientific and Thermo Fisher Scientific are among the companies serving this landscape through equipment, culture media, imaging and laboratory products. IVF Store's 2026 acquisition of IVF On Demand also reflects demand for bundled consumables, capital equipment and technical services, giving clinics a more integrated purchasing and support option.

According to DataM Intelligence, the global IVF devices and consumables market reached US$2.58 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach US$24.28 billion by 2033, growing at a 21.7% CAGR during 2026-2033.
North America currently holds the largest market share, while Asia-Pacific is expected to grow fastest as fertility-care infrastructure and assisted reproductive technology adoption expand. Instruments-including incubators, imaging systems, cryosystems and micromanipulators-are a major product category, while consumables such as culture media, catheters and cryopreservation products remain essential for each treatment cycle. Automation, embryo imaging and cryopreservation are drawing attention as clinics seek repeatable workflows and reliable embryo handling.

Japan market: High cycle volumes meet a frozen-transfer model
Japan recorded 561,664 ART cycles and 85,048 newborns in 2023 across 625 reporting facilities. Frozen-thawed embryo transfers accounted for 271,361 cycles; 36.7% of cycles involved patients aged 40 or older. Public insurance covers IVF, but limits transfers to six for women under 40 and three at ages 40-42. This sustains demand for cryostorage, warming media and traceability. High-throughput clinics buy standard workflows and replenishable consumables, not just equipment.
United States market: Scale, consolidation and labor-saving tools
CDC counted 435,426 ART cycles at 457 U.S. clinics in 2022; 184,423 were egg or embryo banking cycles, creating equipment needs beyond fresh-cycle labs. IVF automation is moving from pilots toward clinic deployment: IVI RMA's planned AURA site and First Fertility's AI rollout show buyers testing consistency, documentation and staffing benefits. Femasys' office-based launch also signals a channel shift, bringing early fertility procedures into OB/GYN practices. That opens sales across clinics, OB/GYNs and lab-service partners.
Market segmentation:
- Incubators and imaging: Incubators led product revenue at 28.6% in a 2025 segment estimate. Time-lapse systems add continuous embryo observation while reducing repeated handling.
- Cryopreservation systems: Cryosystems represented 19.3% of 2025 revenue in the same estimate. Japan's 271,361 frozen-transfer cycles illustrate recurring demand for freezers, storage vessels, vitrification kits and warming media.
- Fertility clinics: Clinics represented 54.2% of end-user revenue in 2025. Their full-cycle laboratory purchases support equipment bundles, service contracts and recurring disposables.
Company profiles
CooperSurgical: Its fertility portfolio spans IVF media, aspiration devices, incubators, workstations, embryo-transfer products, cryopreservation and reproductive genomics. The FDA-cleared Wallace pump strengthens its retrieval offer.
Vitrolife Group: Its 2026 catalog covers retrieval needles, sperm processing, media, labware, time-lapse EmbryoScope, imaging, genomics, transfer and cryopreservation. eWitness adds digital identity checks and traceability.
Esco Medical and Allwin: Esco supplies multiroom and time-lapse incubators, workstations and RFID witnessing; Allwin adds aspiration needles, transfer catheters and vitrification devices. Their catalog connects workflows.
Memphasys: Its Felix system combines electrophoresis with size-exclusion membranes to select sperm, using single-use cartridges. Monash IVF's 22-clinic supply agreement creates a route to recurring sales.
