Anderson Gibbons' My Third Self Places Family and Legacy at the Heart of Epic Fantasy

Savannah, GA - Oct 01, 2026 - Anderson Gibbons is preparing for the release of My Third Self, a new epic fantasy novel that places family, legacy, and the cost of protection at the center of a vast cosmic world.

The book follows Oryious, whose three selves move through memory, time, and hidden planes while confronting the consequences of power and the fear of loss. Around him is a world built from ancient forces and living principles, where families are tied to houses, gifts carry burdens, and survival often depends on what remains unspoken.

The emotional thread of My Third Self comes from the author's own reflections on loss, writing, and endurance. Gibbons dedicates the book to his brother, Torey Dwayne Gibbons, and to his brother's legacies, Lynnise and Dwayne, whom he notes helped inspire two of his most powerful characters.

That personal foundation gives the novel a strong human pulse. Beneath the language of Time, Light, Death, and memory is a story about what people inherit, what they protect, and what they leave behind.

"Legacy is not always clean or simple," said Gibbons. "Sometimes it comes through grief, sometimes through family. Sometimes through the choices we make when there is no perfect answer. That is the kind of story I wanted to tell."

The novel also explores the idea that every generation leaves something behind for the next. Through Oryious and the people connected to him, readers are invited to consider how memories can shape identity and how difficult experiences can become part of a larger legacy. The characters face choices that test their loyalty, courage, and understanding of what it means to protect the people they love.

As Oryious moves between different aspects of existence, the boundaries between past, present, and future become increasingly important. What appears to be a simple decision can carry consequences across multiple planes, forcing characters to confront truths they may have tried to avoid. This structure allows the story to combine large-scale fantasy with intimate questions about family and responsibility.

Gibbons' approach to storytelling places emotional stakes alongside the novel's larger mythology. The worlds of My Third Self are shaped by powerful forces, but the characters remain at the heart of the journey. Their relationships, sacrifices, memories, and hopes provide the foundation for a story about perseverance and the lasting impact of the choices people make.
