Interstitial Lung Disease Overview
Interstitial lung disease, also referred to as diffused parenchymal disease, comprises a heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by fibrosis, or scarring, of the lungs. These conditions are classified on the basis of histopathological, radiologic, and clinical parameters.

The classification system used to describe interstitial lung disease groups conditions based on their causes, distinguishing exogenous from endogenous factors, while cases without an identifiable cause fall under the idiopathic/primary category, which relies on histopathological and radiologic assessment. Many subsets of the disease are of unknown etiology, yet they ultimately share a common pattern of development. The morphological changes observed histologically arise from a sequence of inflammation within the lung parenchyma, the compartment responsible for gas exchange, comprising the alveoli, alveolar ducts, and bronchioles. This region hosts various proteins and pro-fibrotic elements that, after repeated cycles of activation, lead to the accumulation of connective tissue. The trigger can be a known agent deposited within lung tissue, or in some cases, fibrosis may arise spontaneously.

The "Interstitial Lung Disease - Pipeline Insight, 2026" report by DelveInsight outlines comprehensive insights into the present scenario and growth prospects across the indication. A detailed picture of the Interstitial Lung Disease pipeline landscape is provided, including the disease overview and treatment guidelines. The assessment covers in-depth commercial and clinical evaluation of pipeline products under development, along with detailed drug descriptions covering mechanism of action, clinical studies, NDA approvals (if any), and product development activities including technology, collaborations, licensing, mergers and acquisitions, funding, designations, and other product-related details.

From emerging drug candidates to competitive intelligence, the Interstitial Lung Disease Pipeline Report covers it all @ https://www.delveinsight.com/sample-request/interstitial-lung-disease-pipeline-insight?utm_source=openpr&utm_medium=pressrelease&utm_campaign=akpr

Interstitial Lung Disease Emerging Drugs
• DWN12088: Daewoong Pharmaceutical
DWN12088 is an investigational therapy for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) that has shown promising anti-fibrotic properties and appeared safe and well-tolerated in a recently completed Phase I clinical trial enrolling healthy volunteers. It limits the body's ability to produce collagen by preventing an enzyme called glutamyl-prolyl-tRNA synthetase from adding proline to the protein's sequence. The FDA designated DWN12088 as an orphan drug for IPF in 2019. The drug is currently in the Phase II stage of clinical trial evaluation to treat IPF.

• LYT-100: PureTech
LYT-100 is PureTech's most advanced wholly-owned therapeutic candidate. A deuterated form of pirfenidone, an approved anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic drug, LYT-100 is being advanced for the potential treatment of conditions involving inflammation and fibrosis, including lung disease such as IPF and potentially other PF-ILDs and Long COVID respiratory complications, as well as disorders of lymphatic flow such as lymphedema. PureTech completed a Phase 1 multiple ascending dose and food effect study in healthy volunteers and found it well-tolerated at all doses tested. The company is evaluating LYT-100 in a Phase 2 trial for Long COVID respiratory complications as well as in a Phase 2a proof-of-concept study in breast cancer-related, upper limb secondary lymphedema. PureTech is also advancing LYT-100 for IPF and potentially other PF-ILDs, with registration-enabling studies planned.

• BMS-986278: Bristol-Myers Squibb
BMS-986278, a lysophosphatidic acid receptor antagonist (LPA1), is being developed by Bristol-Myers Squibb for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. It is a potent and complete antagonist of LPA action at LPA1-mediated Gi, Gq, G12, and β-arrestin signaling pathways in both cells heterologously expressing human LPA1 and in primary human lung fibroblasts. It is currently in the Phase II stage of clinical trial evaluation.
