Sirius Facilities leases approximately 2,000 square meters to Eurowings - new training facility for cabin and cockpit crews built in the immediate vicinity of Duesseldorf Airport

Duesseldorf, September 16, 2026 - The aviation hub of Duesseldorf gained a new training center: On September 9, 2026, Eurowings and Lufthansa Aviation Training (LAT), opened their new Crew Training Center, located at Sirius Business Park Duesseldorf-Airport. Sirius Facilities GmbH leased the approximately 2,000 square meters of space used for this purpose to the airline; Eurowings carried out the interior construction of the training rooms and the training hall.

At the new training center, Eurowings' cabin and cockpit crews will train together for the first time at a facility developed specifically for them. In addition to modern training rooms, the center features its own training hall. The center was realized in collaboration with Eurowings, Lufthansa Aviation Training (LAT), as well as various departments and project partners.

For Sirius Facilities GmbH, Eurowings' move to this location represents a significant leasing success. The fact that a company with such specialized space requirements has chosen this location highlights both the attractiveness of the site's proximity to Duesseldorf Airport and the suitability of the space for uses beyond traditional office or warehouse applications.

"A training center for cockpit and cabin crews places entirely different demands on a space than an office or a warehouse. The fact that Eurowings chose us for this project is a vote of confidence of which we are proud," says Ruediger Swoboda, director at Sirius Facilities.

The proximity to Duesseldorf Airport is particularly important for operating as a crew training center: The site is located just 1.1 kilometers from Duesseldorf Airport and has excellent highway access via the A52, 2.5 kilometers away, and the A44, 3.7 kilometers away. A bus stop is located directly across from the business park. This prime location was a key factor in Eurowings' decision to choose this site.

On September 9, 2026, the new Crew Training Center was officially inaugurated. The opening ceremony included a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony as well as guided tours of the training building and the training hall.
