Evergem, Belgium - 15 September, 2026 - Thibault Van Renne, one of the top luxury hand-knotted rug makers in Europe, making rugs to order for private residences, interior designers and hotels, has been named a 2026 Architizer A+Product Awards Special Mention in the Carpet & Flooring category for its LEGENDS Tenby design.
The recognition places the house, founded in 2006 by Thibault Van Renne and rooted in a family rug tradition dating back to 1974, among the leading names for bespoke hand-knotted rugs in Europe. Every rug is knotted by hand in Rajasthan, Nepal or Kashmir from wool, natural silk, bamboo silk, nettle fibre or Kashmir wool, with nothing synthetic, at densities of up to 300,000 knots per square metre.

The house is known for large custom formats: it has produced hand-knotted rugs of 17 by 11 metres for a single project and regularly delivers oversized and round rugs made to measure. Each rug is documented in a digital Rug Passport with its exact size, materials and knot density, and the house works with designers through a dedicated trade programme.
Since 2020 the house's designs have also won the European Product Design Award and Architizer A+ Awards recognition. Its showroom is in Evergem, near Ghent, and its full collection, including a made-to-measure configurator, is available at www.thibaultvanrenne.com.
