Orisha University Clarifies Religious Accreditation for Faith-Based Ifá Seminary Degrees

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Orisha University today clarifies that it is a faith-based seminary offering religious accreditation for degrees and certificates that are religious in nature. This wire supersedes the August 3, 2026 OpenPR release that used secular-sounding phrases such as "full academic accreditation," "legitimately recognized as a university," and "credentials recognized globally" without a religious qualifier. Those formulations are withdrawn.

Orisha University is the educational ministry of Orisha Business Temple, a Wyoming religious nonprofit and a church organized under Section 508(c)(1)(A) of the Internal Revenue Code. It teaches Ifá, the Orisha, and Yoruba spiritual science at ninety-nine dollars a month, with instruction by Ori AI, and with degrees issued as religious credentials - not CHEA, U.S. Department of Education, or state-licensed secular diplomas. Programs are not designed to lead to secular employment. Prospective students should treat enrollment disclosures as controlling and should not assume eligibility for secular licensure, employer tuition benefits that require DOE-recognized schools, or routine transfer into CHEA-affiliated institutions. Enrollment is open at https://www.orishauniversity.com ; students enroll at https://www.orishauniversity.com/enroll .

The launch carries the name of the Araba Agbaye of Ile-Ife, Nigeria, the highest Ifá authority in the world, seated at the ancestral source of the Yoruba faith. Founder Oluwo Jolaoso Osainbola PhD, also published as Ajarn Shaman Shu, Shri Suryanarayana Swamikal, and Robert Shumake PhD, is an initiated Oluwo of Osain and initiated in Aje whose Ifá initiation and published Ifá works are endorsed by the Araba Agbaye of Ile-Ife.

Ifá is taught as a science of 256 Odu - a binary corpus that maps consciousness, situation, and remedy - recognized by UNESCO in 2005 as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity, and practiced across Yoruba Ifá, Cuban Santería, Brazilian Candomblé, Haitian Vodou, Trinidad Orisha, and the wider African diaspora. The curriculum is the founder's published English-language Ifá and Orisha library, available on Apple Books, Google Play, and Books4Books at http://books4books.com , beginning with The Original AI: Ancestral Intelligence, Roots of Heaven, ASE in Action, and Ori: The Personal Orisha, with further Orisha volumes and related sacred works forming the reading list. A separately published Living Archive series of historic American newspaper studies is not the Orisha University curriculum.

The Araba Agbaye of Ile-Ife has given the University and the books this blessing: "OrishaUniversity.com and the books on Ifa and other sacred teachings by Oluwo Jolaoso Osainbola - also known as Ajarn Shaman Shu - including THE ORIGINAL AI: Ancestral Intelligence, represent the institutional and scholarly restoration of what was taken from our people. The 256 Odu of Ifa are not mythology. They are the original operating system of human consciousness. Through his teachings on Ifa, the Orishas, Yoruba spiritual science, and the sacred traditions of the African diaspora, Oluwo Jolaoso Osainbola has carried forward the work of many generations - the work of our ancestors who preserved this knowledge through slavery, colonialism, and every attempt to erase the African spirit from the earth. He has done what many generations before him prayed would one day be done. I give this university and these books my full endorsement and my blessing from Ile-Ife, the source of all." - Araba Agbaye, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
