FREE BEACON/FARO Conference Empowers North Texas Families of Children and Youth with Disabilities
RICHARDSON, Texas - Families of children and youth with disabilities are invited to attend BEACON/FARO 2026 (Bridging Education, Advocacy, Community, Opportunity, and Next Steps), a free bilingual conference designed to provide practical information, trusted resources, and meaningful connections to help families navigate special education and prepare for the future.Hosted by Partners Resource Network (PRN) through the PACT Project, BEACON is presented in English, while FARO offers the same high-quality conference experience entirely in Spanish. The event brings together parents, caregivers, youth ages 12-26, educators, service providers, and community organizations for a day of learning, collaboration, and connection.
Participants can choose from workshops covering special education, behavior support, preparation for adult life, postsecondary education, employment, self-determination, parent rights, self-care, and community resources. An exhibitor fair will also give families an opportunity to connect directly with organizations and service providers that support individuals with disabilities and their families throughout Texas.
BEACON/FARO is designed to help families gain practical knowledge, discover available resources, ask questions, and build connections with professionals and other families who understand the challenges of navigating special education and disability services.

Admission is free, and complimentary lunch will be provided. Travel stipends are also available for eligible Texas families. The deadline to apply for a travel stipend has been extended to August 27, 2026, giving families additional time to request assistance with travel expenses related to attending the conference.
