Multi-Pet Households Face a Patchwork of ESA Letter Fees - The Supportive Pet Publishes One Flat Rate Instead
A review of published pricing across major ESA and PSD letter providers found per-animal surcharges as high as $60 and pricing not disclosed until a customer contacts support. The Supportive Pet lists flat rates for two-pet and three-or-more-pet households up front.Dover, Delaware - 2026 - As more U.S. cities move to restrict "junk fees" in rental housing - Seattle's City Council banned several categories of add-on landlord fees this month - renters with Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) or Psychiatric Service Dogs (PSDs) are running into a similar pattern in the market for the letters that make housing accommodations possible in the first place: pricing that changes once a household has more than one qualifying pet.
A review of publicly listed pricing across major ESA and PSD letter providers found no consistent standard. Fast ESA Letter charges $60 for each pet beyond the first. Emotional Pet Support LLC adds $20 per additional animal. ESA Pet does not publish a multi-pet rate at all, telling customers only that "additional fees may apply" and to contact support for pricing. Other providers, including Pettable, include up to two pets in a single letter at no extra charge but do not publish a rate for households with three or more.
The Supportive Pet (thesupportivepet.com), a U.S.-based ESA and PSD letter service, publishes flat pricing for both tiers on its site: an ESA letter is $129 for up to two pets or $199 for three or more; a PSD letter is $149 for up to two pets or $229 for three or more. There is no added per-animal charge and no need to contact support to find out what a larger household will pay.
Real Clinician Review, Not a Letter Mill
Every letter issued through The Supportive Pet is reviewed and signed by a licensed clinician - the company's network includes physicians licensed across multiple states - rather than generated through an automated questionnaire. The company reports that most clients receive a signed letter the same day they complete their evaluation, and that its documentation is HIPAA-compliant and accepted by landlords and airlines in all 50 states.
Built-In Landlord Support
The company also provides a direct verification line landlords can call to confirm a letter's authenticity, and backs every letter with a refund guarantee if a landlord refuses a properly issued document.
"Most pricing in this industry is built around a single pet, and multi-pet households often can't find out what they'll actually owe until they're mid-checkout or on the phone with support," said Ridham, Co-Founder and CEO of The Supportive Pet. "We wanted someone with two or three pets to see the total cost on the pricing page, not discover it later."
Current Pricing
Letter Type Coverage Price
ESA Letter Up to 2 pets $129
ESA Letter 3+ pets $199
PSD Letter Up to 2 pets $149
PSD Letter 3+ pets $229

DATA BRIEF - FOR EDITORIAL USE
Multi-Pet ESA & PSD Letter Pricing: A 2026 Provider Survey
Prepared by The Supportive Pet - August 2026
Summary
We reviewed the publicly listed pricing pages of seven ESA and PSD letter providers to see how each handles households with more than one qualifying pet. We found no industry standard: two providers charge a per-animal add-on fee ($20-$60), one discloses no rate and requires a support inquiry, two include a second pet at no charge but do not publish anything beyond that, and one does not address multi-pet pricing at all in its published materials. The Supportive Pet was the only provider surveyed with a published flat rate covering three or more pets.
Methodology
Pricing was collected from each provider's own publicly available pricing page in August 2026. Where a provider did not publish a multi-pet rate, that is noted rather than estimated. Provider pricing changes frequently; figures should be independently verified against the live pricing page before publication or citation.
Findings
Provider Base Price (1 pet) Additional-Pet Policy Multi-Pet Pricing Published?
The Supportive Pet $129 (ESA) / $149 (PSD) Flat $199 (ESA) / $229 (PSD) for 3+ pets - no per-animal add-on Yes - listed on pricing page
Fast ESA Letter $149 +$60 per additional pet Yes - listed on pricing page
Emotional Pet Support LLC $99 (ESA or PSD) / $179 combined +$20 per additional animal Yes - listed on pricing page
ESA Pet Varies "Additional fees may apply" - amount not stated No - customer must contact support
Pettable $149-$199+ (tiered by turnaround) Up to 2 pets included at no extra charge Partial - no published rate for 3+ pets
Wellness Wag Not published Offers letters covering more than one pet; fee not stated No - fee structure not published
CertaPet $149.99 (ESA) / $199.99 (ESA+PSD combined) Not stated in published pricing No - no published multi-pet rate found
Notes
• "Base price" reflects each provider's standard one-pet housing ESA letter (or PSD letter where noted) at the time of review; several providers offer tiered pricing based on delivery speed, and the lowest published tier is shown.
• This brief covers ESA letter multi-pet pricing specifically; PSD letter multi-pet pricing was less consistently published across providers and is not compared here beyond The Supportive Pet's own rates.
• Available for interview: a spokesperson from The Supportive Pet on why the company priced multi-pet households as a flat tier rather than a per-animal add-on.
