Sharp Launches September 1 with "The Grammar of Cool," a Deep Read on Steve McQueen and the Principles Behind Him
New digital magazine decodes the style, taste, and habits of iconic men - not to chase trends, but to extract what still works todayJACKSONVILLE, FL - Sharp, a new digital magazine for men who want substance behind their style, launches September 1 at sharpthemag.com with its debut issue, "The Grammar of Cool," built around Steve McQueen.
Where most men's style coverage chases the next drop or the next list, Sharp takes a different approach: it studies the men whose style has already outlasted the trend cycle, and asks why. Each issue anchors on a single icon - this month, McQueen - and works backward from the image to the principle: the tailoring choices, the watches, the habits, the discipline, distilled into ideas a modern reader can actually use.
"The goal isn't to tell someone to buy what McQueen wore in 1968," said Robert Seleazer, founder of Sharp. "It's to explain why it worked, so the reader can apply the same logic to their own life, their own build, their own budget."
What Sharp Covers
The launch issue introduces Sharp's seven core departments:
Style - tailoring, grooming, and eyewear
Watches - collecting, value, and the stories behind the pieces
Spirits - whisky and wine, without the pretension
Coffee - equipment and beans for people who take it seriously
Sound - gear and instruments for the amateur and semi-serious musician
Field - fitness and travel for men who move
Corso - home, furnishings, and pantry staples worth owning
Each department includes a curated product strip - "The Kit" - connecting editorial ideas directly to the pieces discussed, so a reader can go from "why this works" to "where to get it" in one motion.
A New Kind of Design for a New Kind of Read
Sharp's visual identity was built from scratch for this launch: a grain-textured, editorial-first layout with a rotating "Now Reading" cover feature, a six-department grid, and a design language pulled from classic print magazines rather than typical lifestyle-blog templates. Sharp is a digital magazine for men who want substance behind their style. Each issue studies one icon - for our inaugural issue, Steve McQueen - and works backward from the image to the idea: the tailoring, the habits, the discipline that made it work, distilled into principles a modern reader can apply. No trend-chasing, no hype - just the grammar behind the cool.
