The Problem It Was Built to Solve

How the AirJetTM System Works

The AirJetTM engine is a complete pneumatic pipeline, miniaturized into a handheld device:

1. Filtered intake. Ambient air enters through a filtered port at the base of the handle.

2. Compression. A miniature, variable-frequency, three-cylinder air pump pressurizes the airflow. The variable-frequency design allows dynamic pressure modulation across brushing modes - pneumatic technology that previously required desktop-scale laboratory equipment.

3. Conduction. The pressurized air travels through a hollow output shaft running through the brush head - a component that must simultaneously transmit the head's sweeping motion while remaining an unobstructed air conduit.

4. Cavitation. A boost chamber amplifies pressure to the cavitation threshold, generating microscopic bubbles in the water and toothpaste foam. These bubbles are the actual cleaning workforce.

5. Delivery. The brush head's internal geometry exploits the Coandă effect - the fluid-dynamics principle in which a fast-moving jet adheres to a curved surface. As the stream follows the contour, it entrains surrounding fluid and foam, thickening and accelerating the outgoing jet.

The Cleaning Action: Microbubble Collapse

The pressurized airflow carries dense microbubbles toward tooth surfaces and into interdental spaces. When those bubbles reach the narrow gaps along the gumline and between teeth - the regions bristles can't enter - they collapse. Each collapse releases a concentrated micro-pulse of energy, enough to break the grip of plaque biofilm.

Cavitation is a well-established cleaning principle - it's the same physics behind ultrasonic dental scaling, adapted here into a gentle, pneumatically generated form for daily home use. In the AirJetTM system, plaque is removed by bubble dynamics rather than abrasive contact, which is why cleaning reaches deeper with far less force on gum tissue.

The bristles remain, but their role changes from "primary scraper" to "guide" - positioning the airflow, shaping the foam, and providing light surface contact while the microbubbles do the work.
