Bevel & Bond Launches Redesigned Website and Our Story Page

HERIDAN, Wyo. - August 20, 2026 - Bevel & Bond today launched a redesigned website at bevelandbond.com, anchored by a new Our Story page that puts the people and the workshop behind its end-grain hard maple cutting boards on the record.

The cutting board category has a transparency problem. Boards sold as "maple" are often beech, birch, or soft maple, and the workshop that actually built them is rarely named. Bevel & Bond's new page answers those questions directly: the boards are North American hard maple, Acer saccharum, built by a wood shop in Hubbard, Oregon, and shipped from the United States.

The page also introduces the two co-founders by name for the first time. James Taylor and Jeff Deveau met in Asia and started the company after repeatedly running into the same experience as online buyers - paying for something meant to be special, then watching the seller go quiet.

"We kept circling back to the same complaint," said James Taylor, Co-Founder. "The things you buy online that are supposed to be special almost never arrive that way. Eventually the complaining turned into 'we could just do it better,' so we did."

The redesign was built around a straightforward idea: publish the details most brands leave out, and let people decide for themselves.

WHAT THE NEW SITE MAKES PUBLIC

The workshop. Boards are made by a wood shop in Hubbard, Oregon, and ship domestically rather than from overseas.
The species. North American hard maple, named explicitly rather than described as "maple."
The build. End-grain construction, 17" x 13" x 1.75" thick, roughly 10 lbs, with a juice groove, finger grips, and non-slip feet.
The finish. Conditioned with food-safe mineral oil, flattened and inspected before it leaves the workshop.
The warranty. Five years against manufacturing defects, handled by the founders rather than a support queue.
The care it needs. Hand wash, hand dry, and periodic re-oiling. The boards are not dishwasher safe, and the site says so.
"Second thing we promised each other was that a real person answers," said Jeff Deveau, Co-Founder, who runs the shop side and the warranty. "You message, one of us replies, usually faster than you'd expect. If the wedding is on Sunday and you're sweating the deadline, tell us - we'd rather know."

The company sells a single board rather than a catalog, currently priced at $119.99, alongside Board Balm, a 6 oz conditioning wax at $14.95. The board holds a 4.88 average across 111 verified reviews.

Bevel & Bond also helps fund reforestation work in the United States. The company does not tie that funding to individual orders or publish a per-sale figure, and the new site states that plainly rather than implying a direct link.
