Austin-based Driftwood Builders Roofing is contributing roofing and exterior repairs for longtime East Austin resident Mattie Freeman, whose home repair needs were highlighted through the Austin American-Statesman's Season for Caring initiative.
AUSTIN, Texas - Aug. 19, 2026 - Driftwood Builders Roofing, an Austin-based roofing and exterior contractor, is contributing roofing and exterior repair work to help longtime East Austin resident Mattie Freeman remain safely in the home her family has known for generations.

Freeman's home repair needs were highlighted through the Austin American-Statesman's Season for Caring initiative, which connects Central Texas residents facing significant challenges with individuals, businesses and community organizations able to help.

Freeman has lived in her East Austin home for decades. As the property aged, it developed a number of repair needs, including issues involving the roof and exterior of the home.

After learning about Freeman's situation, Driftwood Builders Roofing became involved in helping address portions of the home's exterior repair needs, including roofing, siding and fascia work.
