Kilowott at Arendalsuka 2026: Shaping Norway's Future

This week, Arendal has become a meeting place for politicians, businesses, tech leaders, NGOs and organisations from across Norway, coming together for one of the country's most important democratic gatherings.

From "Global Outlook 2026: Rebooting Democracy for a New World Order" and discussions on AI and geopolitics, to Norway's role in Europe's energy security, the future of the Barents Sea and the Norwegian Continental Shelf, some of the biggest questions shaping Norway are on the table.

Sessions by the Norwegian Offshore Directorate are also exploring the future of the NCS towards 2050, while discussions like "Can the UN provide security in a world in crisis?" examine the changing role of international cooperation.

Kilowott also joined a seminar through the Gjøvikregionen collaboration with the Norwegian Cybersecurity Cluster, exploring a crucial question: Can Norway afford not to build its own cyber industry? The answer is clear: no.

The discussion highlighted that cybersecurity goes beyond technology, it is about protecting Norwegian businesses, jobs, critical infrastructure and national resilience. A strong cyber industry can also create new growth and export opportunities while reducing dependence on external expertise.
