Crystal Lundberg, Office Manager and Marketing Coordinator from Chicago, Illinois, commits to helping others build better futures through small, consistent actions.

Why the Pledge Matters Now

Chicago, Illinois, Aug 10, 2026, ZEX PR WIRE - Crystal Lundberg is launching a personal pledge designed to help people break generational cycles and transform adversity into opportunity. Drawing from her own experience growing up in foster care in Rockford, Illinois, and building a career in business management and marketing, she believes that meaningful change starts with daily habits, not dramatic gestures.

"My past itself has also been my motivation. Experiencing hardship gave me a deep drive to break generational cycles and prove that difficult beginnings do not determine someone's future," Lundberg said.

The pledge focuses on actionable steps anyone can take to create stability, pursue education, and develop the discipline needed for long-term growth.

The Reasoning Behind the Commitment

Lundberg spent much of her childhood navigating instability. Her mother struggled with depression, bipolar disorder, and addiction, leading to years in and out of foster care. Around age eight, a family whose father was a family court judge took her in, giving her the first taste of what stability could look like.

"They showed me what love truly looked like. I witnessed what it meant for a mother to nurture her children, for a father to provide and lead with strength, and for a husband and wife to genuinely love and respect one another," she explained.

Although she eventually returned to the foster care system, those years planted seeds that hardship could never destroy. Education became her path forward.

"Education became more than a goal for me - it became a way to transform my future," Lundberg said.

Today, she holds an Associate's Degree in Business Management Administration and is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing and Digital Marketing. She has also begun earning credits toward a Master's Degree in Business Management.

"Rather than allowing my circumstances to define me, I chose to transform my experiences into motivation for growth and success," she said.

Her professional work now centers on helping businesses grow through better organization, marketing structures, branding, and business development.

Seven Personal Commitments

Lundberg has outlined seven specific behaviors she will practice daily to model the principles behind her pledge:

1. Identify one long-term goal each quarter and break it into weekly and daily tasks.
2. Spend 30 minutes each morning reviewing priorities based on impact, urgency, and alignment with larger goals.
3. Choose consistency over perfection in every project by setting realistic standards and meeting them regularly.
4. Reflect weekly on progress and adjust plans without self-judgment.
5. Read or listen to educational content for at least 20 minutes each day to support continuous learning.
6. Maintain a journal to track growth, setbacks, and lessons learned.
7. Share progress and insights publicly to encourage others facing similar challenges.

"I believe consistency is more important than perfection. Staying disciplined, organized, and adaptable allows me to continue progressing even when challenges arise," Lundberg said.

What Success Really Means

Lundberg measures success differently than most. For her, it is not only about accomplishments or financial stability, but about who you become along the way.

"I define success as growth, resilience, and the ability to create a meaningful life despite adversity. Success is not only measured by accomplishments, financial stability, or career advancement, but by the person you become throughout the journey," she said.

She also emphasizes that growth often requires discomfort.

"I have learned that growth often happens during uncomfortable seasons, and perseverance is what creates transformation," Lundberg said.

Do It Yourself: Ten Actions Anyone Can Take

1. Lundberg has created a toolkit of ten actions anyone can take to begin building a better future without paying for services:
2. Write down three long-term goals and identify one small step for each that can be completed this week.
3. Create a daily schedule using free tools like Google Calendar or a notebook to track tasks by priority.
4. Set a daily alarm to spend 20 minutes reading articles, watching educational videos, or listening to podcasts related to your field or interests.
5. Start a free journal using a notebook or app like Google Docs to track daily wins, challenges, and reflections.
6. Identify one habit you want to build and commit to practicing it for five minutes every day for 30 days.
7. Use free online resources like Coursera, Khan Academy, or YouTube to learn a new skill related to your career or personal growth.
8. Reach out to one person each week who inspires you or works in a field you admire, asking one thoughtful question.
9. Review your week every Sunday by listing what worked, what did not, and what you will adjust.
10. Remove one distraction from your daily routine, such as limiting social media to specific times or turning off notifications during focused work.

Share your progress or a lesson learned on social media or with a trusted friend to create accountability and inspire others.

30-Day Progress Tracker

Track your progress using this simple daily checklist. Mark each day you complete your chosen action.

Week 1: Day 1 _ Day 2 _ Day 3 _ Day 4 _ Day 5 _ Day 6 _ Day 7 _

Week 2: Day 8 _ Day 9 _ Day 10 _ Day 11 _ Day 12 _ Day 13 _ Day 14 _

Week 4: Day 22 _ Day 23 _ Day 24 _ Day 25 _ Day 26 _ Day 27 _ Day 28 _

Final Days: Day 29 _ Day 30 _
