IHRDC brings oil and gas training and competency management to Mauritania through in-country partner IDM Industries

IHRDC (International Human Resources Development Corporation), a Boston-based, globally active oil and gas learning and development company, has appointed IDM Industries (Instruments de Mauritanie) as its in-country representative for the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

Under the agreement, IDM Industries will represent IHRDC across Mauritania's energy and mining sectors, bringing IHRDC's core offerings to the region. This partnership brings IHRDC's industry-leading Competency Management Solutions, e-Learning Solutions, and Instructor-Led Programs to be a resource for local workforce development in the country. The organization will continue to conduct regular in-country visits to support clients and advance training programs alongside IDM.

The appointment follows IHRDC's market visits to Mauritania in 2025 and 2026, during a continuous period of growth in the country's energy sector, including the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) LNG project operated by BP and Kosmos Energy.

"This marks the first major energy training provider to be locally represented in this important emerging energy market," said Robert W. Taylor, Vice President of Global Business Development at IHRDC. "Through IDM Industries, IHRDC can help Mauritanian operators and institutions build internationally certified workforce capability as the country's energy industry expands."

IDM Industries, founded in 2012 and based in Nouakchott, is a Mauritanian construction, engineering, and consultancy firm serving the energy and mining sectors, with a team operating in English, French, and Arabic. The company is led by founder and Chief Executive Officer Hadrami Taleb Bouya, who has built relationships across Mauritania's energy, mining, and government institutions.
