The original work A Witch's Life in Mongol, serialized in Japan on AKITASHOTEN's Souffle website and written by Tomato Soup, is a historical court drama set in the 13th-century Mongol Empire.

I'm Kujira, the voice of Boraqchin.When I was offered the role, the first thing that came out of my mouth was:

"You actually found Kujira and cast me?!"

I've always loved history, and I'd already been reading the original manga as a fan. So I never imagined I'd be cast in the anime--especially in this role.

Boraqchin is a quiet, composed strategist who rarely lets anyone see what she's really thinking. She's a mysterious character who will eventually stand in the way of Toeregene and Sitara.

I'm usually known for playing warm-hearted, straightforward, larger-than-life auntie characters, so this role is a whole new kind of "auntie" for me.

Recording was a constant process of trial and error, and with everyone's support, we carefully shaped and brought Boraqchin to life together.

A young girl and an empress.

After losing her mother and being torn far from her homeland, a young girl named Sitara is taken in by Fatima, a kind-hearted lady from a family of scholars.
