The bilingual educational documentary series for kids aged 7 to 12, made with scientists and traditional knowledge keepers, is rolling out now on environmental documentary streaming platform The Green Channel
VANCOUVER, B.C. - August 3, 2026 - The Green Channel is rolling out Live It Earth Nature Documentary Series, an eight-part educational series for kids aged 7 to 12 and their families, in both English and French. Five episodes are now streaming in each language, with the remaining episodes to follow.

Each episode runs about 25 minutes and pairs its hosts with working scientists and traditional knowledge keepers. The series was built for classrooms as much as living rooms: its programs connect to the school curriculum, include Indigenous worldviews, and have reached thousands of educators and students across Canada through Live It Earth's education platform.

"Kids who fall in love with the natural world grow up wanting to look after it," said Scott Renyard, founder of The Green Channel. "Live It Earth makes that first spark happen and it does it in both English and French so kids right across Canada can watch together. It's so great to have this series on the platform."

The episodes streaming now cover serious ground without ever feeling like homework. Kids can follow a wildfire crew and watch a burned forest come back to life, meet host Lea Silver to find out what a volcanologist actually does, and learn how kokanee salmon ended up landlocked far from the ocean. In the climate episode, Host Blue asks experts and artists what a community can do together. And in the oceans episode, Host Connel boards a yellow submarine to see what lies beneath the waves, joined by an elder from the T'Sou-ke First Nation.

Live It Earth was founded in 2017 by Mike Irvine, Melissa Welsh, and Maeva Gauthier, a team of educators, filmmakers, and scientists who once streamed live from underwater into IMAX theatres across Canada, a world first. The team has worked with BC Wildfire Service, BC Parks, Students on Ice, ArcticNet, and BC Ferries.

Live It Earth [https://thegreenchannel.tv/series-details/8006] is streaming now in English, and Live It Earth En Francais [https://thegreenchannel.tv/series-details/8007] in French, on The Green Channel, the environmental documentary streaming platform.
