Built around themes of child abuse, addiction, survival, and redemption, "Ride Sweet Angel" tells the story of a young woman named April as she struggles to escape the physical and emotional scars of her past. Throughout the song, a train serves as a recurring symbol of the path she has traveled, carrying her from despair toward the possibility of healing and hope.

The song was written and produced by Stover, who also provides lead vocals.
