Zyaku, a creator-first social platform, has launched an offline-first emergency communication system designed to let users send safety updates and crisis messages even when they have no internet connection at all. The feature is built around the idea that standard social media and messaging tools typically stop functioning the moment connectivity is lost, which is often precisely the moment communication matters most, during natural disasters, infrastructure failures, and internet shutdowns.

The new system allows a user to compose a safety check-in or emergency broadcast entirely offline, using message categories ranging from general information to warnings and critical alerts, and to set the audience scope to global, national, state, or city level. Once composed, the message is queued locally on the device rather than requiring an active connection, and it publishes automatically the moment the device reconnects to the internet, without requiring any further action from the user. The company describes this as removing the single point of failure that typically prevents people from communicating during a connectivity outage, since the action of composing and queuing a message no longer depends on the network being available at that exact moment.

Alongside the queuing system, the feature includes offline access to previously cached content and crisis information, so users can continue reviewing available updates even while disconnected, and a dedicated Crisis Feed that surfaces emergency broadcasts and safety check-ins from other users as soon as connectivity is restored. According to the company, this is intended to function as a coordinated communication layer during emergencies rather than a single isolated feature, allowing entire communities to share status updates even under degraded network conditions.
