MSI Women's First Team Wraps United Women's Soccer Regular Season With Free Home Finale July 11

ROCKVILLE, Md. - The MSI Women's First Team wrapped up its United Women's Soccer (UWS) regular season on Saturday, July 11, closing out the club's summer campaign with its final home match.

The team hosted its final regular-season home match on July 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland. Admission was free for all MSI Women's First Team games, and the club welcomed families, players, and neighbors from across Montgomery County to support the squad in its last home fixture of the season.

The Women's First Team opened its schedule the weekend of May 30 and played a mix of home and away matches against regional UWS opponents through early July. Home games this summer were staged at Walt Whitman High School, giving local fans a chance to watch semi-professional women's soccer close to home at no cost. With the July 11 match, the club capped off several weeks of weekend and midweek fixtures across the region.

MSI's Women's First Team competes in United Women's Soccer, a national league founded in 2015. UWS was created to help fill the gap in the development of female soccer players between the college game and the professional and international levels. For MSI, the team gives college athletes, recent graduates, and other advanced players a place to keep competing and training at a high standard during the summer months.

Players on the Women's First Team follow the same club-wide training approach that MSI uses across its programs. That includes a season-long training plan, a shared curriculum, and coaching methods developed by the club's full-time technical staff. The group trains on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with matches played mostly on weekends and some Wednesday evenings.

The Women's First Team sits at the top of MSI's player pathway. The club offers soccer for nearly every age and ability, starting with its Recreation program for young and beginning players, moving through the Classic League and the competitive Travel program, and reaching the semi-professional level with the men's and women's first teams. That structure is designed to give players a clear route to keep growing in the sport as far as they want to take it.
