TOKYO, Japan - SAKEANI JAPAN Inc. announced that "Kokushu Seijo" (SAKEANI JAPAN), a new subscription service combining Japan's national spirits with the country's celebrated voice-actor culture, will go live in September 2026.

Four times a year, subscribers receive seasonal sake and shochu - known collectively in Japan as "kokushu" - accompanied by original audio programs in which professional voice actors tell the story behind each bottle: the brewer's philosophy, the region's history, and the craft handed down through generations. Rather than selling merchandise to fans, the service turns the moment of opening a bottle into a narrated cultural experience.

The concept has already been tested in public. At "Seijosai in TOKYO 2025," the brand's launch festival held at Tokyo City i (KITTE) on December 27-28, 2025, a cumulative 5,800 people attended over two days. The event was announced only through social media and a single press release - no paid advertising - and featured 11 sake breweries from across Japan alongside several popular voice actors.

Survey data from the event (N=511) points to an unusual audience for the sake industry: 42.5% of visitors said they do not drink regularly, "history and culture" was the most-cited interest in kokushu (41.9%), and 51.1% said they wanted voice actors to narrate brewing history - more than three times the share who preferred character-voice performances (15.5%).

The service is built around an original story world, "MIZUNO MANIMANI," in which a water-governing dragon deity and water spirits weave a tale for every participating brewery, with a future anime adaptation in view.

Internationally, SAKEANI JAPAN will make its first appearance at JapanFest in Atlanta - one of the largest Japanese cultural festivals in the southeastern United States, drawing roughly 22,000-25,000 visitors annually - in cooperation with the Consulate-General of Japan in Atlanta. The company is seeking partners in distribution, events, media, and the voice-actor and talent industries worldwide.
