Manawaker Studio Signs Katherine Quevedo for Poetry Collection on Video Games and Identity

The collection draws on games ranging from Pac-Man and The Oregon Trail to the Zelda franchise and contemporary titles like Portal. Quevedo's poems trace an emotional history through the characters and moments that carried the most weight at different points in her life.

Katherine Quevedo was born and raised near Portland, Oregon, where she works as an analyst and lives with her husband and two sons. She is the author of the Elgin Award-winning poetry chapbook The Inca Weaver's Tales (Sword & Kettle Press, 2024) and the fantasy novella Thrice Petrified (Of Metal and Magic Publishing, 2025). She writes the column "Level Up Your Poetry" for Sidequest.
Manawaker Studio is known for publishing off-beat speculative fiction anthologies on specific themes, most recently "Home Constellations: An Anthology of Unconventional Bonds," a book of speculative fiction featuring chosen families.
The new book, which will contain over 30 poems, will be released in paperback, hardback, and eBook simultaneously in late 2026; an audiobook will follow months after.
