Local Comedy Benefit to Raise Funds for Mental Health Programs in Alameda County

FREMONT, Calif. - Local comedians will present a special evening of comedy and music on Saturday, August 15, 2026, to benefit the Alameda County chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). The show begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Lodge, 40955 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, California.

According to producer John Schaefer, "Mental health touches nearly every family in one way or another. This show is an opportunity to enjoy a great night of comedy while supporting programs that provide education, hope, and resources to people in our community."

NAMI Alameda County is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals living with mental health conditions and their loved ones through education, advocacy, support, and public awareness. Funds raised from the event will directly support the chapter's community education programs, helping more people access reliable information and compassionate support.

The evening will feature music by R. Daniel Lee and stand-up performances by Samson Koletkar, Summer Batte, Ferminator, Kathy Guest, and producer John Schaefer. Headliner Samson Koletkar is one of the Bay Area's best-known comedians, and the diverse lineup promises an entertaining night in support of an important cause.

Members of the Mission Peak Lodge #114 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows have generously donated the use of their community space for the event, helping maximize the funds that will go directly to NAMI Alameda County's programs. Attendees can also view their museum prior to the event.
