Nashville, TN - July 13, 2026 - Science fiction author and SFWA member David E Graham has been named a Finalist for the prestigious Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award in the Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy category for his novel Broken Alliance, the second installment in The Tracer Series. The Silver Falchion Awards, presented annually at the Killer Nashville International Writers' Conference, recognize outstanding achievement in genre fiction and are among the most respected literary honors in the thriller and speculative fiction community.
"This recognition means everything to me," Graham said. "I wrote Broken Alliance to ask hard questions about loyalty, power, and what it costs to do the right thing when the systems around you are broken. To have that story honored alongside some genuinely incredible work in the genre - I'm humbled and incredibly grateful."
The Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award draws submissions from across the publishing spectrum, with finalists selected by a panel of industry professionals. Being named a finalist places Broken Alliance among the most compelling speculative fiction published in 2025.
Broken Alliance continues the story begun in Tracer, Graham's debut novel, following the crew of the Settled Systems as they navigate political conspiracy, fractured alliances, and the personal costs of conflict. The series has earned praise for its cinematic scope, morally complex characters, and unflinching examination of how power corrupts institutions and the people inside them. Broken Alliance previously earned the Literary Titan Gold Award, cementing its reputation as standout work in character-driven science fiction.
