Quip Launches AI Tool That Turns Long Videos and Podcasts Into

Quip, a new AI-powered tool for content creators, has launched to help podcasters, video creators, and studios turn long-form content into short vertical clips in minutes.
While the market for AI clipping tools has grown rapidly, most operate as "black boxes" - generating clips with no explanation of why particular moments were chosen. Quip takes a different approach: alongside generating roughly 15 clips from a single long video or podcast, it shows the user why each moment was selected, giving creators transparency and control over the output.
Beyond explainability, Quip includes several capabilities that address common gaps in existing tools:

Active-speaker detection that accurately follows who is talking when multiple people appear on screen - a technically difficult problem that many tools handle poorly.
Automatic silence and pause removal, cutting dead air without manual editing.
Word-level editing, allowing creators to adjust clips down to individual words so the final cut stays true to their voice.
Brand-style formatting, so clips match a creator's existing visual identity.

"Creators sit on hours of great long-form content that dies after a single post, because repurposing it manually takes hours or costs a lot in editing," said Timur, founder of Quip. "I built Quip to turn one long video into a week's worth of clips in minutes - and to do it transparently, so creators actually trust what the tool gives them."
Quip was built by a solo founder and is aimed at podcasters, interviewers, video creators, coaches, and studios who produce long-form video and want to distribute it as short-form content across TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
Quip is available now. Creators can try it for free by uploading their own video.

Quip is an AI-powered platform that helps content creators, podcasters, and studios turn long-form video and audio into short vertical clips ready for social media. The company was founded in 2026 by a solo founder with a background in building software and competing in hackathons, and grew out of a simple but widespread frustration: creators produce hours of valuable long-form content - podcasts, interviews, talking-head videos - yet most of it reaches its audience only once before disappearing.
Inside every long recording are dozens of short, shareable moments capable of reaching new audiences on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. The problem is that extracting them has traditionally required hours of manual editing or significant spend on professional editors, which is why most creators simply never repurpose their work. Quip was built to remove that barrier entirely.
The platform takes a single long video or podcast and produces roughly fifteen vertical clips in minutes, formatted to match the creator's brand style. What sets Quip apart from other tools in a fast-growing category is its focus on transparency and control. Most AI clipping tools function as black boxes, generating clips without explaining their choices. Quip instead shows the creator why each moment was selected, allowing them to trust and understand the output rather than second-guess it.
Quip also addresses several technical gaps that competing tools handle poorly. It offers active-speaker detection that accurately tracks who is talking when multiple people appear on screen, automatic removal of silences and pauses, and word-level editing that lets creators refine each clip down to the individual word so the final result stays true to their voice. Together, these features aim to give creators the speed of automation without sacrificing the quality and authenticity of hand-edited content.
The company's mission is to help creators get more reach from the work they have already done, making consistent short-form distribution sustainable for individuals and small teams who do not have the time or budget of a large media operation. Quip serves podcasters, interviewers, video creators, coaches, educators, and production studios who want to transform their long-form output into short-form content efficiently.
Quip is available now and offers a free option, allowing new users to upload their own video and see the results firsthand. More information is available at https://quip.ink.
