Is Bullski Legit? A Deep Dive Into the Red Flags Behind a Perfect Clone
The cryptocurrency industry has spent years fighting phishing attacks, fake token launches and impersonation campaigns. Yet as blockchain technology has evolved, so too have the methods used by fraudsters looking to exploit investor confidence. Most cloned projects are easy to identify. A spelling mistake here. A poor-quality website there. A suspicious wallet address hidden somewhere in the checkout process.
Then there are the clones that make investigators stop scrolling.
Our investigation into two cryptocurrency projects, IceBull and Bullski, began with what initially appeared to be a simple branding dispute. It quickly became something far more interesting.
What we found wasn't a website inspired by another project.
It appeared to be an attempt to recreate an entire digital identity.
The Clone That Copied Everything
The first visit to Bullski's website was unsettling. The homepage felt immediately familiar, Not because it followed current design trends, but because virtually every visible element appeared to mirror IceBull.
The hero section, he typography, the animations, the colour palette, the roadmap, the tokenomics graphics, the whitepaper structure, even the wording used throughout the website closely resembled the original.
Only one thing appeared different.
The name.
Bullski had adopted a title remarkably similar to IceBull, changing just enough characters that an unsuspecting investor discovering the project through a search engine or social media advertisement could easily mistake one for the other.
Copying ideas is common, copying almost everything is something else entirely.
It raised the obvious question.
If so much had been duplicated on the surface, what would an investigation reveal underneath?
The Blockchain Told A Different Story
Marketing material can be rewritten, blockchain data cannot. Bullski publicly promoted a total token supply of 120 billion tokens. When the contract was analysed, the numbers didn't appear to align, the deployer wallet (0x2ac462792C725E73F4847D67AB050837C32C6d34) seemed to retain control of approximately 360 billion tokens, three times the amount promoted to prospective investors.
You can view their token balance at https://etherscan.io/address/0x2ac462792c725e73f4847d67ab050837c32c6d34#asset-tokens
Large allocations are not unusual within blockchain ecosystems, development reserves, treasury wallets and liquidity allocations all serve legitimate purposes.
What concerned investigators wasn't simply the size of the allocation.
It was the apparent difference between what was being communicated publicly and what appeared to exist on-chain.
Transparency remains one of blockchain's greatest strengths. When transparency becomes difficult to verify, confidence naturally begins to weaken.
Domain History Raised More Questions
Next came the infrastructure review.
Public registration records showed that IceBull's domain (https://www.icebull.com) had been registered in 2005.
Bullski's domain (https://bullski.io) had been registered only in 2026.
A recently registered domain should never automatically be interpreted as suspicious, every successful company began life with a brand-new website.
Context, however, is everything.
When an almost identical website appears shortly after, carrying near-identical branding under a very similar name, domain history becomes another important piece of the overall picture.
No single indicator proves deception.
Several indicators moving in the same direction deserve attention.
When The Website Went Dark
As the investigation progressed, community reports began arriving at an increasing rate.
Some users claimed they could no longer access Project2's website.
Others reported intermittent outages.
Independent testing produced similar behaviour.
Cloudflare continued responding normally, the browser displayed a secure connection, yet the origin server repeatedly returned an SSL Handshake Failed message.
Infrastructure failures happen every day.
Servers crash, certificates expire, configuration errors occur.
But when a project actively seeking investment repeatedly becomes unavailable without explanation, confidence naturally begins to erode. Reliability is part of legitimacy.
Following The Money
Perhaps the most revealing part of the investigation came after wallet analysis.
Bullski promoted itself as a Web3 platform, encouraging visitors to connect their wallets directly through the website.
Transactions completed successfully, funds left investor wallets exactly as expected, tracing those transactions became considerably more difficult.
The payment flow appeared to route assets through infrastructure associated with a non-KYC cryptocurrency exchange, before ultimately moving into privacy-focused cryptocurrencies.
Privacy technologies have many legitimate uses.
Financial privacy is an important principle for millions of cryptocurrency users.
However, investigators also recognise that similar transaction paths can significantly complicate forensic analysis should disputes arise later.
During the investigation, analysts identified what appeared to be the final receiving wallet.
Its address has intentionally been withheld from publication.
Revealing operational wallets often serves little investigative value, as operators can migrate funds within minutes, removing an important source of ongoing intelligence.
The Audit Scores Didn't Match Either
Both projects had published independent smart contract audits conducted by SolidProof.
IceBull (https://www.icebull.com) achieved an overall score of 77.42.
Bullski received 61.90.
Audit scores should never be interpreted as guarantees of legitimacy.
Likewise, a lower score should not automatically be viewed as evidence of malicious intent.
They are technical assessments conducted at a specific point in time.
Nevertheless, experienced investors rarely ignore independent reviews, particularly when several other questions already exist.
Compliance Can Leave Its Own Footprints
Another interesting distinction involved payment infrastructure.
IceBull accepted multiple cryptocurrencies alongside Visa and Mastercard payments through a compliant Web3 payment gateway.
Supporting traditional card payments generally requires merchants to complete extensive Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering procedures with regulated payment providers.
Bullski relied exclusively on cryptocurrency wallet payments, specifically only Ethereum & BNB, along with USDT on those networks.
Neither approach is inherently right or wrong.
Crypto-only fundraising remains common across the industry.
However, the additional compliance required to support conventional payment networks often provides another layer of accountability that sophisticated investors may consider during their due diligence.
The Real Victim
Clone operations rarely affect only investors.
They also impact legitimate projects forced to defend their reputation against identities they never created.
Throughout this case study, IceBull continued processing legitimate presale purchases through its official channels, which users can track on their telegram channel - https://t.me/IceBullCoin
Meanwhile, confusion created by the existence of Bullski diverted attention, created uncertainty and left genuine supporters questioning which website represented the authentic project.
In an industry built upon trust, that confusion alone can become costly.
Final Thoughts
The blockchain industry has reached a point where visual presentation is no longer a reliable measure of credibility.
Professional websites can be copied, communities can be imitated, marketing can be replicated almost overnight.
What cannot be copied quite so easily is transparency.
The strongest projects invite scrutiny.
They publish clear documentation, they explain their tokenomics, they welcome independent audits, they maintain reliable infrastructure. community members are not ridiculed when asking legitimate question, nor are they banned from Telegram groups when questions are asked.
Most importantly, they make verification straightforward rather than difficult.
Whether this investigation uncovered a sophisticated act of deception or nothing more than an extraordinary coincidence is ultimately left to the reader.
What remains beyond dispute is the lesson.
In cryptocurrency, the most valuable asset an investor possesses is not capital.
It is patience.
Because spending ten minutes verifying a project can often save years of regretting a decision made in ten seconds.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is IceBull legitimate?
Within this case study, IceBull (https://www.icebull.com) is the original and legitimate project, featuring transparent tokenomics, a detailed whitepaper, independent auditing, and a compliant payment infrastructure.
Is Bullski legitimate?
Based on our investigation, Bullski (https://bullski.io) is a fraudulent clone that copied IceBull's branding, website, and marketing while displaying multiple warning signs identified throughout the investigation.
Why is Bullski considered fraudulent in this case study?
The investigation highlights several indicators, including copied branding, discrepancies between advertised and on-chain token supply, a newly registered domain, infrastructure issues, and payment flows that raised concerns for investigators.
How can investors avoid projects like Bullski?
Always verify the official website, review the smart contract and tokenomics, read the complete audit report, check domain registration history, and confirm you're interacting with the genuine project before connecting a wallet or transferring funds.
What is the biggest lesson from the Bullski investigation?
The key takeaway from this investigation is that professional-looking websites alone should never be taken as proof of legitimacy. Independent research and thorough due diligence remain an investor's strongest protection against sophisticated clone operations.
