Shopping Around the Clock: GLOBUS and twenty4U Focus on Innovative Local Retail
_Eschborn/Paderborn, July 7, 2026_ - With the official opening of the new 24/7 store at the GLOBUS Markthalle Eschborn yesterday, a modern shopping concept for round-the-clock shopping was launched. The new array of vending machines allows customers to access a selection of groceries and everyday essentials even outside of regular business hours.
The 24/7 store is located directly at the GLOBUS site in Eschborn and complements the existing market offerings. The product range includes, among other things, fresh meat products, beverages, snacks, frozen foods, ice cream, and other everyday essentials. Payment is quick and contactless--regardless of the market's opening hours.
The project was implemented in collaboration with twenty4U GmbH from Paderborn. The company develops intelligent smart-store and 24/7 retail solutions that combine modern hardware with a central software platform. The goal is to offer operators a reliable and easily manageable solution for staff-free retail.
At the grand opening, GLOBUS welcomed numerous guests from politics, business, and government, as well as representatives of the regional press. Together, they officially opened the new location and presented the new shopping experience.
"Retail is changing. Today's customers expect more flexibility and want to be able to shop regardless of traditional opening hours. With the new 24/7 store, we are working together with GLOBUS to create an additional offering that meets precisely these needs," says Alexander Burghardt, Managing Director of twenty4U GmbH.
The location benefits in particular from its setting at the Ladepark, which features numerous fast-charging stations. While their vehicles are charging, visitors can conveniently do their shopping or quickly stock up on groceries and snacks. In this way, the concept combines mobility and local convenience in a modern way.
With the project in Eschborn, GLOBUS and twenty4U are demonstrating how digital technologies can meaningfully complement brick-and-mortar retail. The new 24/7 store expands the existing offering with a flexible shopping option and provides customers with easy access to everyday essentials at any time.
