RZM400-50M - Redundancy module for fail-safe DC power supplies up to 400 VDC
Redundant operation or increased power output through parallel operationReliability and availability are among the key requirements for industrial power supply systems. The FEAS RZM400-50M redundancy module supports such power supply concepts in the DC range from 100 to 400 VDC. It enables redundant operation of power supplies of the same type or parallel operation to increase output power. With appropriately designed power supply systems, N+1 redundancy concepts can also be implemented.
In industrial facilities, a reliable power supply is crucial for operational safety. The RZM400-50M decouples two DC power supplies from one another and prevents backfeeding between the connected devices. If one power supply fails due to a loss of mains voltage or a malfunction, the second power supply automatically takes over powering the connected load without interruption.
A prerequisite for redundancy operation is that one of the power supplies used can cover the entire power demand of the loads on its own. Alternatively, the module can be used to increase power output by operating two power supplies in parallel. This makes the RZM400-50M suitable for both fail-safe power supply designs and applications with increased power requirements.
The redundancy module is rated for 100 to 400 VDC. It supports input currents of up to 2 x 25 A and provides an output current of up to 50 A. The two power supplies are decoupled via power diodes. Operating and fault conditions are indicated by LEDs. In addition, three potential-free signal contacts are available for integration into higher-level control or monitoring systems.
The RZM400-50M features adjustable fault thresholds for monitoring the connected power supplies. In addition, the module offers over-temperature protection with remote monitoring. This allows operating conditions to be detected not only on-site but also integrated into plant control or supervisory systems.
Like many FEAS components, the RZM400-50M is designed for use in demanding industrial environments. The module is fully encapsulated in an aluminum housing and is intended for direct mounting on a DIN rail. The design is vibration-resistant and suitable for tropical climates; the operating temperature range extends from -40 ?C to +80 ?C. Applications include automation systems, power plants, control cabinets, mechanical engineering, and industrial applications with high demands on availability, environmental conditions, and continuous operation.
