Hillbilly Films Productions Announces Completion of Psychological Thriller Obsession's Rising, Now Listed on IMDb

SALT LAKE CITY, UT - Hillbilly Films Productions has announced the completion of Obsession's Rising, a psychological thriller written by Andrew DeBennett and Shane R. Nolan and directed by DeBennett. The film is now officially listed on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) and is actively pursuing festival submissions and distribution.

Obsession's Rising follows Sean, a quiet coffee shop owner whose fixation on a regular customer quietly escalates into surveillance, manipulation, and irreversible choices. The film stars Thomas Glasmann, Lexi Jackson, Cooper Garrett, Kayli Brummer, Chloe VonKoelsch, and Michelle Roberts.

"Obsession is one of the most universally understood human experiences - and one of the least honestly portrayed," said director Andrew DeBennett. "We wanted to make a film that removes the illusion entirely and shows obsession for what it actually is."

The film was produced on a micro-budget with a lean, experienced independent crew, with post-production including a full Level 3 sound design pass covering kill sequences, foley, and atmospheric layers. The official trailer is now available on YouTube.

DeBennett is an 11-time award-winning filmmaker whose work has been recognized by the Los Angeles Short Film Award, Pageant Film Festival (Best Director), and Humro Cinema Film Fest (Best Script of the Season and Award Winner), among others. Obsession's Rising expands the world of his award-winning short My List of Bodies I Buried in the Woods into a debut feature designed for festival discovery and streaming acquisition.
