MLA Psychology Expands Neuroaffirming Mental Health Support Through Psychologist Tahlia Rahme
MLA Psychology today announced the continued expansion of its specialist child and adolescent mental health services through the expertise of AHPRA-registered psychologist Tahlia Rahme. Through a neuroaffirming and strengths-based approach, Rahme provides personalised psychological support to children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing a range of developmental, emotional, and behavioural challenges. As the demand for specialised youth mental health services continues to increase across Australia, many families face barriers in accessing timely and appropriate care. MLA Psychology addresses this need by delivering flexible service options, including telehealth appointments available nationwide, as well as selected in-home and school-based sessions throughout Northern Melbourne where clinically appropriate.
Rahme specialises in supporting young people experiencing anxiety, school avoidance, autism, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), intellectual disability, emotional regulation difficulties, learning challenges, social confidence concerns, and low mood. Her therapeutic philosophy prioritises understanding each individual's unique strengths, communication style, sensory needs, and personal environment before establishing meaningful therapeutic goals.
"Many children and teenagers enter therapy after navigating systems that have not always understood their individual experiences," said Tahlia Rahme, Psychologist at MLA Psychology. "Creating a space where young people feel genuinely accepted and supported forms the foundation for meaningful therapeutic progress. When we focus on understanding the person first, we can develop strategies that empower them in everyday life."
Unlike traditional deficit-focused approaches, Rahme's neuroaffirming model acknowledges neurodiversity and supports young people in developing self-awareness, emotional resilience, practical coping strategies, and confidence while maintaining their authentic identities. Parents, caregivers, schools, and other support networks remain integral partners throughout the therapeutic journey, ensuring strategies extend beyond the therapy room and into daily life.
MLA Psychology also supports eligible families through various funding pathways, including self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants, as well as clients accessing services through a valid Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plan where applicable.
The expansion of these services reinforces MLA Psychology's commitment to making compassionate, evidence-based mental healthcare more accessible to families across Australia. With a multidisciplinary team of psychologists delivering personalised support across a broad range of mental health concerns, the practice continues to focus on empowering individuals and families to achieve improved wellbeing and long-term positive outcomes.
